For fine oriental rugs we provide the service of carpet binding.  This standard rug binding is usually done by hand and the colors will match closely with what is already there, preventing further unravelling and minimizing edge wear.   *Please note that we DO NOT bind wall to wall carpeting. *

Fringes

Many oriental area rugs have fringes as part of their overall design.  Fringes actually do have a job, which prevents the rug from sliding off the end of the threads and holding the rug together.  Fringes can take a beating over time and cause potential structural problems.  At The Rug Wash, we can add fringe to any type of oriental carpet.  As it will not be considered part of the structure of the rug, it can be added using a binding method and is easily replaceable.
